Ballymoney Black Santa, Liam Beckett, begins 2018 Christmas sit out.

Now in its 11th year, local celebrity Liam Beckett began his annual ‘Black Santa’ sit out at the Dimond in the town on Monday. Each year Liam collects for 5 charities which are SVP (St Vincent de Paul), The Salvation Army, The Samaritans, DropInn Ministries and CAN (Compass Advocacy Network).

Last year at a reception hosted by the then Mayor of Causeway Coast & Glens Council Joan Baird, Liam was able to present a cheque to each of these charities for £2240.

Speaking at this reception in February of this year, The Mayor Joan Baird said;

“The general public should be commended for their generosity which has made a huge difference to these organisations. Collectively they make a positive impact right across our community. I was delighted to have this opportunity to recognise Liam’s charitable efforts and personally thank him for his commitment to these local groups.

Liam’s sit out will continue for two weeks until Saturday 24th December and all donation are welcome.
