Theresa May to meet DUP leader

The Prime Minister will meet DUP leader Arlene Foster later today (Wednesday) to discuss the current Brexit negotiations.

This follows the vote which was due to take place on Tuesday in the commons but was postponed as it was ‘Likely to fail’.

Instead Mrs May made her way to Brussels to seek assurances over the Irish border backstop.

The PM will meet the DUP leader in London before making her way to Dublin to talk with the Irish PM, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.

Meanwhile back in the commons it is believed that MP’s have submitted the quota of 48 letters to trigger a confidence vote which could see the PM being forced out of her position if less that 50% of her party stand by her.
